Open Climate and the Green Screen Coalition

An open movement in support of climate action (read the article)

As a follow-up to the Digital Rights x Climate Justice event in Berlin (now known as the Green Screen Coalition) and taking advantage of the number of practitioners attending the RightsCon 2023 conference in San José, a large group of participants gathered to discuss a variety of subjects related to climate justice in the digital realm. The new location allowed many Latin Americans to participate in the discussion.

Our track, led by Shannon Dosemagen (Open Environmental Data Project) and Michelle Thorne (Green Web Foundation), brought some of the outputs of the Open Climate calls and other consultations with a large number of participants about the importance of open knowledge to support activists and practitioners who strive to attain climate justice.
